Andrew Watt, FCIOF

Andrew Watt has been a passionate leader and advocate for the social and philanthropic sectors for more than 25 years. He has significant experience creating successful coalitions in complex and challenging multi-national environments. He brings a robust international background in public policy development, advocacy, nonprofit management and philanthropy. Andrew serves as a creative leader in times of challenging organizational transition in both the US and the UK. He utilizes strong analytical skills when leading and encouraging teams through the process of innovation and transformation, while working closely with the media to inform and educate the public on the positive impact of philanthropic giving.


Prior to joining Accordant, Andrew served as President & CEO of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and Interim President & CEO of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy. He also served as Chief Programs Officer and as Deputy Chief Executive for the Institute of Fundraising in Europe.


Andrew has been actively involved in shaping the nonprofit sector. He was the first non-U.S. citizen to serve on Treasury appointed committee–the Advisory Committee on Tax Exempt and Government Entities (ACT)– where he co-chaired the tax-exempt entities sub-group to advise the IRS on key issues impacting nonprofit organizations. He is also the founding chair of the Institute of Fundraising Health Sector special interest group.


Andrew shares his expertise as an innovative thought leader and utilizes his skills as a fluent and experienced communicator to bring together diverse communities of people with wide-ranging opinions to achieve successful outcomes in the world of health care philanthropy. He is a frequent contributor to publications and conferences worldwide. Andrew received a master’s degree in history from Edinburgh University.
