Javin Peterson is a retired Air Force officer with over 20 years of operational, problem solving and collaborative team building experience. He specializes in community health partnerships with the objective of decreasing disparities among the Social Determinants of Health (SDoH), such as housing, nutrition, education and employment. Javin’s strengths and passions are in creating long-term community-focused relationships that make community health engagement a neighborhood-to-neighborhood, block-to-block endeavor. In addition to being a Principal Consultant with Accordant, Javin is the Executive Director of Shepherd’s Gate Health, coordinating the efforts of community stakeholders to provide preventive medical care to the underserved of their communities.

Prior to Accordant, Javin served as a Lieutenant Colonel and pilot in the United States Air Force. He flew over 100 combat and combat-support missions as a KC-135 air refueling pilot. Javin spent the last seven years of his career as an Air Force 2 (AF2) pilot supporting the Vice President of the United States and other national dignitaries.

Javin is a member of the National Association of Health Service Executives and the American College of Healthcare Executives. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the United States Air Force Academy and holds post-graduate degrees and certificates from the University of Oklahoma, Georgetown University and George Washington University.
